Lady Cee’s Creative Challenge!

Earlier in March this year, I shared an image and challenged readers to use it as a visual aide-memoire to motivate, inspire, or challenge ourselves to regularly reach forward and become the person we want or need to be, in order to achieve our dreams (click here to read this post).

I can’t help wondering whether there is anyone out there who personally took on that challenge. Since there are no comments in this specific regard, I can only assume that either people were too shy to share, or perhaps the challenge did not appeal. Who knows?

However, I just cannot seem to leave this idea alone. I cannot get this image out of my mind. Not surprising really I suppose, since I use the picture regularly as a motivational tool.

And so today, I am issuing another challenge.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. So dear reader, may I ask, what does this picture say to, or about you?

It can be related to this blog’s theme (i.e. encouraging each other to be purpose-driven believers and dream achievers), or it can be related to your own blog’s theme, or in connection with your personal aspirations, or as a literary/creative writing exercise.

To participate, simply comment in a box below, or write a post of your own and link back to this page.

The Creative Challenge:

When you look at this picture what do you see?

Let your imagination go!

Inspire. Connect. Share.

Dear reader, would you kindly do me a favour please? Would you use your social network (whether via Twitter or Facebook or your own blog site) and invite others to take part in this challenge?

My challenge remains open until Sunday 30 September 2018.

  1. Hi Lady Cee! I think this is just what I have been praying for. I’ve been having major writer’s block and I think a challenge like this will definitely thaw it. Lol. I’d like to know if the post is to be done just once or if there would be other picture prompts to use all through the month.

    1. Hi Dainty M,
Thank you for reading and I love your enthusiasm.
There will just be the one photo for this month but if you want to use it more than once you are most welcome.
I look forward to reading whatever you decide to share once your writer’s block has dissolved! 😃

    2. Hello Dainty M,
Following your comment, I’ve been hoping you would join in the challenge. It’s not too late should you feel inspired! You can use the picture prompt in whatever way sparks your imagination.

      Have a blessed week 🙂

      1. Thank you so much for the reminder. I still intend to do it. And since it’s a single post, I didn’t think I’d be constrained to do in Sept (as I’m running a whole month challenge). Not to worry, as soon as it’s up, you’ll know 😘😘

  2. Hi Lady! Some hopefully helpful feedback for if you do this again. I’m sharing based upon the number of times you mentioned no one was participating, making it clear you were trying to entice people out.

The picture is a cliche pic that can make it difficult to inspire comment from others – it doesn’t really get the juices flowing. Using this same pic removes that element and is the same principle:

Much better image quality, draws the reader into the image, and you can start imagining where he is coming from, what he is running too, etc. Unsplash has a lot of great and also is free. The quality is great!

Additionally, in a challenge, using different photos can inspire different people. Maybe this particular image didn’t conjure up thoughts, but another one could. If you do another challenge consider appealing to a wider audience by using eight different images: one per week.

It was a great idea and I see where you were trying to go and it was successful in jogging your creative juices so it’s still a great exercise!

    Have a wonderful week!
