Boost Your Confidence – Every Day!

Have you ever been on the receiving end of someone’s lack of confidence in you?

I bet you have!

Perhaps you’ve even encountered someone’s scarce-concealed contempt.

But what about you?

Do you entertain self-doubt?

Have you secretly harboured concerns that you might not be able to meet the needs of a job, or get a task done in time to meet that deadline?

Do you wonder whether you really have what it takes to fulfil your dreams, to achieve your purpose, to end this year on a strong, productive and victorious note?

Whether emanating from you, or somebody else, the above scenarios speak of reservations regarding your ability, personal commitment, even perhaps your integrity.

Not pleasant is it?

Do you know that God has no such reservations about you?

And the wonderful, amazing truth is that despite our God knowing us so much better than anyone else (including ourselves), He still has confidence in us. He still entrusts us with the advancement of his kingdom. He still wants to use you and me as co-labourers. Humbling, isn’t it?

God knows your strengths. He knows your weaknesses. He’s familiar with your failures and shortcomings. He’s aware of your outward pretensions and occasions of bluffing bravado. He knows your secret fears. In fact, God knows you inside out and outside in. He knows your thoughts, intentions and motivations. Yet despite what he knows about you, he places utmost confidence in you… has planned a wonderful destiny for you.

Now when God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden, do you think he had no idea Adam was going to fail, that he was going to betray his Creator and disobey his command? And yet despite knowing this, our Father-God had absolutely no reservations about placing Adam in the Garden of Eden, entrusting him to look after it. None!

Purpose-driven believer and dream-achiever, whether you are aware of it or not, whether you believe it or not, God has a plan for your life. Listen to what the Bible has to say about this:

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

(Jeremiah 29:11 Amplified Bible)

So what were your expectations for this year?

Do you have cherished dreams, goals, or a vision which have been a continual source of discouragement because you’ve failed to achieve? Have you abandoned hope because it feels less painful to let your dreams go, rather than experience the constant disappointment of thwarted aspirations?

Dear reader, I sincerely hope you did not answer “Yes” to any of my questions above, although I fully understand if you have done so.

I sincerely hope that whatever life throws your way, you will not allow yourself to be deterred from following your dream, running with that vision, pursuing those goals.

But if that is the case, I hope the following motivational video (4.16mins) will encourage and kick-start that much-needed faith in yourself.

However, if you are doing well, if you are on target for fulfilment of your goals then please take a moment to congratulate yourself and to thank your loving Creator, whose breath fills your lungs and has enabled you to reach that milestone.

Dear friends, even though we are drawing close to the end of this year’s journey, there’s still time to write a few pages of achievement and success in the story of your life.

Friends and followers, I wish you God speed, as you continue with confidence on your journey.

Daisy or Dahlia? Rembrandt or Rosseti? – Discern your worth!

I want to encourage women to embrace their own uniqueness. Because just like a rose is beautiful, so is a sunflower, so is a peony. I mean, all flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that’s like women too.

Miranda Kerr

In a world of peer pressure, others set the standard that we seek to live by. However, when it comes to pursuing our destiny and fulfilling our purpose, we shouldn’t allow others to dictate who we ought to be, or what authenticates us, as individuals.

It’s so easy to allow insecurities or dissatisfaction with self and our accomplishments to drive us into a game of comparison.

Whenever, or if ever we find ourselves comparing our works, or our calling, or our abilities to those of another, let us remember that we’ve been created for God’s purpose (not for our own, nor for the purpose of anyone else!).

Let us remember that we are unique beings – not photocopies! We are God’s creative masterpiece. A valuable piece of art doesn’t go looking for approbation. Nor does it seek to make inferior copies of itself, or worry about the value of other pieces of art in comparison to itself. Its value is heightened and increased by its originality. Its value is measured by its creator.

Today I’d like to highlight the words of Gilda Radner who said:

While we have the gift of life, it seems to me the only tragedy is to allow part of us to die – whether it is our spirit, our creativity or our glorious uniqueness.

So what are you influenced by dear friend, peer-pressure or purpose?

Let God, not others determine your worth!

Purpose-driven believers, I encourage you today to be true to whom God has made you to be.

Appreciate your worth!

Celebrate your uniqueness!

My Thinking Corner

Hello lovely readers,

It’s that time of the week again when we share positive thoughts to encourage, inspire and motivate one another on our journey in life and towards personal achievement and success.

Every Tuesday, Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha hosts a weekly challenge to share snippets of positive thoughts. For further details check out her blog and if you’d like to join in, don’t hesitate to visit Jacqueline’s “Thinking Corner” (see Tuesday Trickles at side bar section for full details).

This week, my focus is on INTEGRITY

integrity-quote(vollanza.com)Integrity is not what you appear to be when all eyes are on you. It’s who you are when no one is looking. It’s a level of morality below which you never fall, no matter what’s happening around you. It’s a high standard of honesty, truthfulness, decency and honor that is never breached. It’s doing for others the way you would want them to do for you.

(The Power of a Praying Wife – Stormie Omartian)

Integrity is a heart-deep moral stance – not a stage for shallow showmanship

(Carol Hind)

Integrity is a choice to honour your moral or godly principles above popularity or personal gain

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.
