Your Key to Success

Do you meditate?

I’m not referring to the so-called mystical kind where you sit cross-legged, close your eyes and try and empty your mind.

I’m talking about the kind of meditation God commanded Joshua to do. As Moses’ successor he was quite naturally nervous about his new responsibility to lead the Children of Israel into the land God had promised them.

Now that’s the thing about God. He knows us through and through. He knows what worries us, what we’re concerned about. He knows what our fears and uncertainties are. And he doesn’t just know about them, he cares!

So what?

I’ll tell you!

God cares enough about you to do something about it. Furthermore, because he created you and knows your physical, emotional and spiritual make-up, knows what enhances your life, knows what undermines it, he tells you (and me), to do certain things for our own benefit.

God had told Joshua to be courageous and in order to help him achieve this, He instructs Joshua to meditate on the Law. God commands Joshua to constantly reflect upon his requirements, so that he can a) remember them and b) do them.

It’s one thing to know about a benefit but quite another thing to actually avail yourself of that benefit.

Meditation, is the active reading, memorising, recalling and contemplation of God’s Word. It is a spiritual benefit. And regularly meditating upon God’s Word enables us to build inner strength and courage and determination. It focuses our mind upon God, upon who he is and what he requires of us as his children. It highlights the fact that the onus is upon us, to steer our lives with the wheel of obedience, so that they align with his purpose and will.

But guess what?

There is an added bonus to meditation because God promised Joshua, if he was faithful to meditate on God’s Law day and night, then he Joshua, would make his way prosperous and achieve good success.

Are you pursuing your God-given dreams? Are you asking God to bless your endeavours and grant you success? If so, but you don’t seem to be getting anywhere, have you complied with his conditions?

  • Have your given God’s Word priority in your life?
  • Are you mediating upon his Word?
  • Are you becoming a doer of his Word?

Yes? Yes? And Yes?

Great!

Then success in the things he has called you to do is guaranteed.

But if your answer is “No”, then it’s back to the drawing board for you my friend.

In order for you to make a withdrawal from your spiritual bank account, you must first make deposits. So my dear friend in Christ, allow me to encourage you to meditate upon God’s Word daily.

Ditch worry (a form of negative meditation) and adopt, or resume the practice of familiarising yourself with, thinking about and speaking the Word of God to yourself. Then determine in your heart to act upon it.

Become a God-glorifying, purpose-driven achiever!

Wishing you a peaceful and blessed weekend!

Best wishes,

Carol (aka Lady Cee)

  2. Dearest Carol, what a powerful reminder of where our priorities are held. I do believe that sometimes, even when we are pursuing the call of God on our lives, delays occur because we walked ahead of God. Sometimes, He will pause and wait. My belief is that if we will take time to pause with Him, listen to His heart and receive His instructions, our journey toward His dreams manifesting for us will carry on. It’s a heart check, perhaps, of what we value the most?

I don’t have any room to talk! 🤣 I’ll get all excited, go gung-ho for a goal and soon realize that I went too far, too fast. Skipping the harder lessons of life would be nice sometimes, but hey, we serve a God who loves parables and pop quizzes, ha ha!

Love how you said worry is a form of negative meditation. It really is! Some of my worst panic moments in life simply stemmed from ‘meditating’ on the wrong thoughts. Unchecked, lying, tormenting spirits that tell us nothing but what’s in opposition to who God says we are and what we can do! Our mind truly is the battlefield. Meditating on the Word of God is the sword that slays the giant!

Sending you nothing but my very best, Carol. I love you sis and am beyond grateful to have found you. Your words of wisdom, encouragement and power always go straight to the core of my heart! You are a brilliant writer, a powerful woman of God and a dear friend. ♥
