God’s Spiritual Butterfly

Hello Friends,

Those of you who have followed my blog for some time, will be aware that I’ve often bemoaned my past struggles with maintaining a regular writing habit. Since 2015, blog posts and journal writing have helped me to overcome this failing – finally!

Because I’m keen to improve my writing ability, I do like to use the old Daily Post prompts as a personal creative writing challenge and share them on this site, from time-to-time. I hope you enjoy reading my effort below.

Since I’m aware that WordPress no longer add new entries to their Daily Post Word Prompts, if there is anyone who’d like to try their hand at this prompt (TREAT) and share it with the blogging community, you are welcome to paste your post link in a comment box below. Or if you would simply like to read what others have written on this prompt, you can do so here.

The Daily Post – Daily Word Prompt: TREAT

It would be a treat to wake up to my dream life. To stretch luxuriously and get out of bed feeling a delicious sense of satisfaction that today, I get to write a page of my life’s story in exactly my own words and on exactly my own terms. No one making demands. No unappreciative, or unreasonable employer, who has to be obeyed.

I can do this because I work for myself. And I know that my efforts are worthwhile because they are creating a positive impact in the lives of others.

You see I am a word-crafter. A painter of words—encouraging words, spiritual words, healing words. Words which bring freedom. Words that motivate and inspire. Words that liberate. Words that reach across distances, or travels deep down into the souls of those in need of a supernatural and magical transformation.

A transformation from victim to victor. A transformation from underdog to super-warrior. A transformation from reject to rejuvenated individual. Yes, a miraculous transformation—from the frustrating and lowly existence as a caterpillar grub, to the freedom and beauty of a butterfly life.

What a treat that would be!

And I, in return will experience the satisfaction of knowing that I am giving of myself. Imparting the best of myself. My talent. My achieved dreams. My desire to come alongside others and help make their lives better.

We all need that – don’t we?

And wouldn’t it be a treat if we lived in a world where every individual had that desire and ability and used that desire and ability, to make not only their own lives sing with the melodic songs of success and achievement but harmonised with the songs of others, blended with the melody of others?

Instead of discord, and competing strident voices, there’d be a euphonious mix of beautiful anthems, there’d be a pleasing creative blend of voices and tones and ideas and actions. And life would be one beautiful dream. Life would be heaven because everyone would maximise their potential to bless… to appreciate others… to celebrate others.

In fact, every day would be one continuous celebration of life and togetherness and beauty and achievement and unity and compassion and love, love, love. Unconditional love.

And the awesome God above, who created me and created you, and put us in a world of beauty and diversity and wonder, would look down and smile.

In fact he would come down to visit, just as he did in the Garden of Eden, and he’d walk with us and commune with us, and enjoy our company and enjoy the pleasure of his entire creation moving in unity, in peace and harmony, and he’d say: Well done, my good and faithful friends. Enter into the fullness of my joy. You are a treasure to behold! You are a treat to my kingdom!

Dear reader, I wrote the above journal entry on 19 January 2018. I am so relieved and happy to report that, at the end of last year, I handed in my notice and left my full-time post to pursue my dream of writing full time. I have done so in faith and am trusting my Father-God to open doors of opportunity for me to be able to eventually earn an income from my writing.

You could say that I’ve treated myself to freedom. You could say that in taking this step, I’ve chosen to forgo my previous caterpillar existence and embark upon a new life of freedom and liberty. I have chosen to become God’s spiritual butterfly.

Best wishes,

Carol (aka Lady Cee)

  2. I LOVE this post, Carol. It was a real treat! 😉 Most of all, I loved reading that you were able to hand in your notice at the ol’ ball and chain and pursue what God has called you to do. I pray, with all of my heart, that the favor of God be found on you in overwhelming abundance. I pray that every person you need to meet, be networked with, seen by or otherwise need to know – would be known to you this day. I pray in agreement with the promise of God that everything you put your hand to prospers in the name of JESUS. You ARE the head and not the tail, the lender and not the borrower, above & not beneath. You are victorious in every single way – called, chosen and blessed for this very day and purpose.

You are an inspiration, an encouragement and a blessed hope in this crazy world. Your voice is needed, cherished and preciously valued. You are God’s masterpiece. I look forward to seeing what all He will do in you & through you! ♥

    1. Oh Holly!
There you go again with your affirming and loving prophetic declarations. Thank you! Once again you have brought a smile to my face and my heart. 😃
And what I find interesting is that often what you say is what I am praying and believing our Father-God for myself.
It does feel wonderful to be free from the “ball and chain” yet also a responsibility.
Thank you for your good wishes and prayers. May God bring many more “Hollys” my way in the future! 😃💖
