Who comes to mind whenever you think about a genius?
Is it Thomas Edison? Johann Sebastian Bach? William Shakespeare? Steve Jobs?
My Oxford English dictionary defines genius as: exceptionally great intellectual or creative power; a person with this.
Consider also the following definition:
A genius is a person who displays exceptional intellectual ability, creative productivity, universality in genres or originality, typically to a degree that is associated with the achievement of new advances in a domain of knowledge. […] …many geniuses have shown high achievements in only a single kind of activity.
The above extract taken from Wikipedia highlights the fact that usually, those considered to be a genius, have made their exceptional achievements in only one field of endeavour.
It set me thinking.
I know someone who’s a genius in many fields of endeavour and he’s very often the last person you might think of when you consider examples of those you’d describe as a genius. He is none other than God himself!
Yet in all reality, there is no one on earth who more deserves this title. For the Lord God Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth, has made all things well.
He created human beings. And you only have to consider the intricate workings of our brain and of our physical bodies to realise that our creator is a genius.
He made the universe. You don’t have to be an astronomer, or a student of cosmology to appreciate the amazing wonders of the galaxies.
Breath-taking landscapes, awe-inspiring seascapes and numerous riverscapes showcase another facet of our Father-God’s creative abilities, whilst the mind-boggling variety of animals and insects, fish and flora pay further homage to His awesome creative ability.
However, above all these wonders, is God’s amazing ability to transform hearts… to translate a soul from the sphere of darkness into His Kingdom of Light. No one else has that ability.
Now that is genius!
Today I want to pay tribute to the genius ability of my Father-God, the God of all gods, the High and Lofty One. I want to join my thoughts with the psalmist who said:
O Lord, what a variety you have made! And in wisdom you have made them all! The earth is full of your riches.
(Psalm 104:24 The Living Bible)

I love this post from you, Carol. I wholeheartedly agree; our God is a genius! My favorite line was this one: “However, above all these wonders, is God’s amazing ability to transform hearts… to translate a soul from the sphere of darkness into His Kingdom of Light. No one else has that ability.” Amen & amen! I’ve thought about this often – how powerful it is that God can take a cold, hardened heart and transform it into a ‘heart of flesh’ that lives and breathes for the kingdom of God.
I sure am thankful that I have met one creative genius – you! Thank you for sharing yet another fantastic post, sister. You always get the ol’ wheels spinning in my heart and mind. 🤗
P.S. The review I left for your book on Amazon finally went live. I hope I did your work at least a little justice. All my love to you & yours! Be blessed my friend.

Dear Holly,
Thank you so much for popping by and reading my post and I do appreciate you taking the trouble to leave me a comment. It is amazing how God can change a heart even from complete unbelief that he even exists, to someone who now acknowledges that He is indeed God.
Thank you for your kind words. God certainly uses you to speak encouragement and positivity into my life and after recently experiencing a few put-downs, these are so affirming.
Re the Amazon review, thank you so much for honouring your word. I did check a few days ago and thought you had forgotten. I look forward to reading it. I have not been very active about promoting my book so I guess now I have a review I need to do something.

Dearest Carol, it’s no trouble at all to share comments on your site. You write so beautifully and really inspire the heart and mind to expand their understanding.
I am deeply deeply sorry to hear that someone put you down. Oh my, that breaks my heart. That is nothing but an attack from the pit of Hell because you are on the right track my friend. Any and all attempts at making you feel not good enough are proof positive that you are a powerhouse for the Lord. Remember that. Satan will not attack anyone who isn’t effective. For someone to go out of their way to try and tear you down, they are obviously being used by the devil himself. They may not realize what they’re doing fully (although some do), but that’s what’s happening.
To know that you feel encouraged by my words brings me more joy than I can say. You deserve it my friend. Your encouragement has meant more than you realize. You inspire us all to be better women and men of God. Your voice matters so much. In a sea of voices, yours shines every time.
I hope you enjoyed the review. For some reason Amazon was slow getting it posted. They said it would take a few days after review so I’m assuming that was the hold up. I wanted to take the time and really give a thorough review of everything that I love about your book. I meant every word, Carol. You’ve done an incredible job with this prayer guide. Every detail was carefully planned and beautifully executed. Your prayers are genuine, powerful and backed by Scripture. It’s amazing and I’m SO proud of the work you’ve done! God’s Presence is all over it. Your prayer for the hand of God to be on each one was answered. I believe my prayer life and that of every reader will absolutely be elevated to new heights!
Please never stop writing sweet Carol. I simply love your heart for the Lord and every unique gift He has given you. You are deeply loved by God and I! ♥

Dear Holly,
I came back just now to post my response to your review and see you have left yet another affirming message. Thank you. It does warm my heart to read what you’ve written regarding the quality and content of my book because there has been so much prayer gone into it and because I do so want this book to make a significant impact in people’s prayer lives and relationship with God. Thank you for always being so complimentary about my writing ministry.
Now here is my response to your review.
Dear Holly,
What can I say?
I was blown away by your comprehensive and glowing review. Although I am aware of your generosity of heart, I had not expected this. I must have read it about 3-4 times! Thank you so, so much. I appreciate ALL the time and effort that you put into this and I appreciate your love and support in going the extra mile to share your critique of my book and for the 5-star rating. I believe I mentioned that I could not find it at first because I’d been looking for it at the UK website until I remembered you are from the USA. Today, I note Amazon has also uploaded your review to the UK site. Win/win!
From the bottom of my humbled heart, I thank you. God bless you my dear, precious sister in Christ. God richly bless you!

I agree with you Carol. God is such a genius. He is the ultimate creative. You asked a couple of questions:
1. The last time I thanked Him was a few hours ago. I was really fascinated with how amazing our bodies are and how they truly tell us everything we need to know about ourselves in terms of whether we are in balance or not.
2. I hope I am unleashing creativity through my two blogs and the work I do with clients and in the community. I am showing people how to share their stories authentically, confidently, and responsibly and to combat lies they have long told themselves about faith and the world around them. I hear powerful testimonies of how our work together is changing them and their communities that always brings me to praise that He would work through me in such a beautiful way.
I purchased your book today. I am looking forward to reading it and sharing it on an upcoming blog post series on The Essential Creative that will focus on independent authors.

Dear Shell,
Thank you so much for responding to my questions. You are one of the rare few who engage personally with my posts and respond to my calls to action. It is such an encouragement to me because whilst I truly appreciate the “likes”, I’ve learnt over time that these are no guarantee that the post has actually been read!
God certainly deserves thanks and appreciation for the way he has designed our bodies. It never ceases to amaze me how he has built in the capacity for our bodies to heal and renew itself and how quickly blood circulates around our bodies.
I am so happy to hear about the impact you are having with your writing/teaching/mentoring ministry. When I read some of your posts I can sense your joy and confidence from doing what you love to do and are called to do. I congratulate you on your boldness in stepping out in this way and pray God opens doors for you that no man can shut and which bring you into his realm of supernatural abundance, spiritually as well as financially.
You do not know how much you have blessed my heart this morning to know you are supporting me not only with purchasing my book but intending to share it. I look forward to reading what you have to say about it in the future. Thank you so much Shell. I deem it a real compliment when another writer is prepared to read my book or any of my writings.
May God bless you and cause his face to shine upon you and grant you and your loved ones his peace. 😃😊😁💖
