Hi dear friends and followers,
I hope you are enjoying my creative challenge posts.
Have they sparked any ideas of your own?
Today I’d like to share another aspect of what I see, when I use the following image as a visualisation tool with a view to motivating myself to achieve my dreams and pursue my goals.
I note that this woman is forward-looking. This brings to mind the following scripture:
…forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV)
I see this woman as someone whose eyes are firmly fixed upon Jesus, who is the author and finisher of her faith.
As this woman strides towards her destiny, towards the fulfilment of her dreams and the achievement of her goals, the image of the shining sun reminds her that the Lord God is her sun and shield. In other words, He is her means of personal growth, development and well-being. He is her divine protector. He will grant her the necessary grace to endure, to overcome and to triumph. Furthermore, she’s aware that the Lord God will withhold no good thing from her as she conducts her life in an upright manner (Psalm 84:11).
Can you see the large bag that this woman is carrying in her hand? Recently as I considered what this could mean, the saying: “it’s in the bag” immediately sprang to mind. To me the bag signifies this woman’s complete confidence that whatever she is pursuing she will achieve. In fact, she already sees her desires, her goals as an accomplished fact.
In conclusion, my belief that this woman is future-focussed, is brought to mind once again. A clue to this is in what I do not see in the picture, rather than what I can see. I note that this woman is not depicted wearing a rucksack upon her back – praise God!
And so what? (I hear you ask).
Well, this serves as a reminder to me that we should not be carrying around baggage from our past and my observation brings us full circle to the scripture quoted at the beginning of this post from Philippians 3: 13-14.
Now how neat is that?!
- What do you see?
- Are you future-focussed, or past-obsessed?
