God’s Unfathomable Mercy

MY THINKING CORNER aims to share positive thoughts to encourage, inspire and motivate us on our journey in life and towards personal achievement and success.

Every Tuesday, Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha hosts a weekly challenge to share snippets of positive thoughts.  If you’d like to join in, please check out this link for further details. (Unfortunately, Lady Cee only has capacity to participate in this blog challenge on alternate Tuesdays).

My Thinking Corner

Have you ever been so mistreated that you began to wonder whether somehow you did something to deserve it?

Perhaps the Enemy has pointed to past mistakes or sins in your life and sowed the thought in your mind that you are merely reaping your just deserts. Or perhaps you feel that past peccadilloes do not justify the kind of backlash, which seems to have been unleashed in your life.

Whatever the case may be, can I point out something to you dear reader? To do so, let me take you first to God’s Word, which is (or should be) the ultimate authority in your life.

I refer to that scripture which says:

He (God) has not dealt with us according to our sins,

Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

For as the heavens are high above the earth,

So great is His mercy towards those who fear Him;

As far as the east is from the west,

So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

(Psalm 103:10-12 NKJV)

Next let me share a verse from a poem by Russell Kelfer. It goes like this:

No, that trauma you faced was not easy.

And God wept that it hurt you so;

But it was allowed to shape your heart

So that into His likeness you’d grow.

With the above in mind, I’d like to encourage those to whom the words of this post may apply.

  • Don’t accept the lies of the devil by embracing and dwelling upon them.
  • Don’t allow those who set themselves against you or the circumstances that conspire to defeat you, to rob you of your peace of mind, joie de vivre, or hope for your future.

Purpose-driven believers, revel in God’s grace and mercy. Bask in the sunshine of his unconditional love. And have a blessed and productive week!
