Give God Your All

Has your life been a failure so far? God can change that! Have you enjoyed a measure of success? God can take you to a higher level of achievement! Want to maximise your potential? Make yourself available to God! He is able to do infinitely beyond your highest desires and dreams.

The following is an excerpt from The UCB Word For Today, a free devotional* written by Bob and Debby Gass.

Now to Him, Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super-abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]—

Ephesians 3:20 (Amplified Bible)

IF YOU only have a thimble-worth of capacity and you’re standing on the edge of a vast ocean, you have access to a lot of water but you won’t get much of it because your capacity is so small. If you have the capacity of a bucket you’ll get more than a thimble, but once the bucket is full the ocean can do you no more good. If you have a barrel you’ll get more than a bucket, but once the barrel is full you will still only have taken advantage of a miniscule part of the ocean.

The idea is to offer God the biggest container possible. Offer Him all of you so that He can accomplish what He wants to do in your life. And no matter how successful you may be, you still haven’t maximised all that God wants to do in you and through you. Paul puts it this way: ‘Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.’

When you give your life to Christ, the Holy Spirit takes up residence within you. That means if your life has been a failure thus far, He can turn it into a success. And if your life has been successful thus far, He can take you to a higher level of success. That’s why you should begin each morning by praying: ‘Lord, I make myself totally available to You this day; work through me to accomplish Your will.’ That’s a prayer God will answer.

Purpose-driven believers and dream-achievers why not make 2016 a year where you increase your availability to God and increase your capacity to be filled with more and more and more of Him?

  1. Excellent post! BTW, I just noticed the comment you left on my blog in December. You didn’t know where to leave your comment so you went to the “About” section. FYI, if you cannot find a place to leave a comment, usually if you click on the title of the story, the real blog will open and then you just scroll down and you’ll see where to leave your comment at the bottom. I hope that helps! Welcome to FOCB!

    1. Thank you Shell. Although I can’t take all the credit for this one as part of it is taken from a devotional resource, which I hope was made clear at both the beginning and end of this post.
